Title Song of 'Connected Hum Tum'

The Extended Version of the 'Connected Hum Tum' Title Song

Cockroach se darti hain,Waxing se nahin

Love ka signal deti hain, Car ka nahin!

Baatein le jaati hain  Kahin ki kahin

Phir humse shikayat Ki samjhte hi nahin!

Mummy aur make-up se Itna lagaav kyun hai?

Hum kal ki bhool gaye Yahaan 10 saal ke ghaav new hain!

Senti mental hone ka Itna drama kyun hai

Har sale mein shopping Kyunki kapde few hain!

Auraton ko samajhna Itna difficult kyun hai?

 Zee TV se rahenge…

Connected Hum Tum!

‘Connected Hum Tum’ ... Understanding Women Like Never Before

The channel introduces audiences to an all-new format of television entertainment
Abhay Deol debuts on television as the host of this path-breaking show

Ever considered what it must feel like to hold a camera and record yourself in your house, capturing all that you say and do in your most personal space?  Would you agree to carry the camera and shoot yourself as you go to work, step out to shop or attend a class? Would you have conversations with the camera about your innermost state of mind and broadcast it on national television? A vast majority of us would gulp down hard and go “What??? NO WAY! I could never do that!” But six courageous women of different ages and at different stages in their lives, have dared to bare it all - their hopes, their worst fears, their insecurities, their mistakes, their triumphs, their joys and sorrow – on national television for the world to see! And what has emerged is a vibrant picture of what being a woman in the year 2013 is all about – a fresh, first-of-its-kind reality series called ‘Connected Hum Tum’ that starts on Zee TV at 10 PM on Monday, 3rd June!

Lending a male perspective on all the exciting developments in these six women’s lives will be the celebrity host of the show, Abhay Deol. Touted as the thinking woman’s dream man, Abhay will regale the audience with his sparkling wit, spot-on observations and tongue-in-cheek commentary on all that’s brewing in the women’s lives.

Speaking of his debut on television, Abhay said, “‘We deal with women in such a wide range of roles … be it our own mothers, wives, girlfriends, sisters, colleagues at work … they color the very fabric of our everyday existence. Yet, women are such a maze that we, as men, can never really completely understand. ‘Connected Hum Tum’ is an attempt to demystify women and thereby understand relationships better … The idea of women shooting their own lives and baring their soul on national television is a first. To watch six women deal with the real drama of their lives in their own individual ways, will help us understand them and, in turn, ourselves better. As the host of the show, I intend to leave the audience with how I perceive the women through my lens! I will raise questions that will make them think …”

Ajay Bhalwankar, Head, Content- Hindi GECs, ZEEL said, “The core idea at the heart of ‘Connected Hum Tum’ is to bring families together by demystifying relationships.  In studying the mindspace of six women at different crossroads in life, Zee TV gives the audiences a chance to understand the psyche of today’s Indian woman, thereby understanding the women in our own lives better.” He added, “To say that we’re excited about this project would be an understatement. As a format of entertainment, the show is something India has not experienced yet. We laud the courage of these six bold women who have agreed to put their mind, soul and space out for everyone to see. Through the cameras, six parallel stories unfold and six lives gradually become connected as each woman experiences transformative life changes. Each of these women embarks on a journey of self-discovery and what the viewers get is a compelling, if not addictive reality viewing experience on television.”

Developed originally in Israel, ‘Connected’ as a format has emerged to be a phenomenon on television across countries like Denmark, Holland, France and USA. This international format is brought to India by Disney UTV.

Avi Armoza of Armoza Formats, the international distributors of the show format said, “We at Armoza Formats are delighted to have our internationally acclaimed format ‘Connected’ launched in India. We are sure that this will only add to the massive global success of ‘Connected’ as it enters into a land of rich culture and tradition.”

Ram Landes, the creator of the show said, “It’s very exciting to see ‘Connected’ travel to India. In a country so culturally rich, and with the terrific cast that ZEE has brought in, we are sure this will make for a fascinating show. In the process of taking ‘Connected’ worldwide, we've met TV channels and production companies in over 10 countries, and I am extremely impressed with the ability and creativity of the professional staff of the production in India.”

Each of the six women who have embarked on this journey have undergone technical training in terms of using the camera in the most natural manner, coaching in terms of adjusting to the presence of a camera so as to minimize its interference with their behavior, viewing sessions of what they have filmed in isolation and in a group and monitoring changes in their behavior as a result of the filming process.

So who are these six brave women who have taken the plunge? Watch this space for more …

Rubina Dilaik, Karan V Grover and Shrishty Rode in the new chapter of Punarvivaah to play the leads of the new chapter of Punarvivaah

Even as several prominent actors from the television industry auditioned for the lead roles of Zee TV’s second chapter of Punarvivaah, the rumour mills have been working overtime to predict who will bag the coveted roles! The good news is that the wait is now over. The channel now confirms that Rubina Dilaik, Karan V Grover and Shristy Rode have been cast as the leads in the new chapter of the show. With the story of the current protagonists Yash and Aarti coming to an end, the new show ‘Punarvivaah … Ek Nayi Umeed’ will tell a fresh, completely different story of remarriage with an all-new cast.

The new chapter tells you the real life love story of popular television actress Divya, which is perhaps more gripping than her reel life! Rubina will play the role of Divya who has had to put aside her love life in her quest to build  a career as a television actress and support her family. Karan will play the role of Raaj, a disillusioned young man who has married the girl his family chose for him after he lost his first love to trying circumstances. What destiny has in store for these star-crossed lovers after Raaj’s marriage forms the crux of the new chapter of ‘Punarvivaah’.

“It is almost a year now since my fans have last seen me on television. When I played the devoted husband Karan to Abha on Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli, women all across the country fell in love with my character. Mothers too envisioned Karan as the perfect son-in-law for their daughters. Now, coming back to do another show with the channel that made me a household name is like returning to family.” says Karan. “Punarvivaah is a show that the entire TV fraternity has been talking about for the last year. So getting a chance to work with a show that has created such an impact on society is a tremendous opportunity. I hope that fans will continue to support me in this new role in the same way that they have in the past. To say that I am excited by the prospect is an understatement!”

Rubina too is looking forward to this new role. She said, “Everyone has seen the love story of a girl next door, but have you ever watched the love story of your favourite actor or actress? One just reads about it in the gossip columns. The new chapter of Punarvivaah gives the audience an up, close and personal view of an actress’s life and her love story. Playing the role of an actress is what I find most exciting! I cannot wait for the shoot to start. I hope that my fans love this new avatar as much as they loved me as Radhika in Choti Bahu.”

The new chapter of Punarvivaah also sees the return of Shrishty Rode who was last seen on the small screen as the grown up Shobha in Zee TV's Shobha Somnath Ki. Shrishty's character Sarita is to play an integral part in the story of Raaj and Divya. "I am really looking forward to playing the character of Sarita as it shows fans a different side of me as an actress. I will not ruin the surprise by disclosing the exact nature of my role, but you should tune in to the show to find out!" says Shrishty.
With the first chapter of ‘Punarvivaah’ having not only opened up to an overwhelming audience response but also managing to spark off a national debate on the issue of remarriage, the channel believes the subject merits more screen space even though the ongoing track of the lead protagonists has come to its logical conclusion. So audiences can look forward to a fresh story with fresh faces, once again centered around remarriage!

We would love to hear your Umeed Story!

Everything that is done in the world is done by hope.
Martin Luther

Rightly said. The show 'Punar Vivaah' has 'Umeed' (hope) weaved in every stage of the storyline. It started with Aarti's mother-in-law getting her re-married and now Aarti is getting her father-in-law remarried after the sad demise of her mother-in-law.

Everybody in this world seeks companionship and there is no age to stop seeking so. Hence, when societal dogmas raised several eyebrows, Yash and Aarti stood by their decision.

Re-marriage in anybody's life brings in 'Umeed,' the fulcrum of human existence.

Share with us your story of 'Hope.' It can be on any topic from any point of your life or someone closely associated with you.

We would love to hear your 'Umeed' story.
